Heeey I'm actually replaying SA right now! :D It's probably the one game I've spent the most hours on in my life, back when it was new especially, though GTA 3 and VC are close contenders. I came back to all of 'em every once in a while.
Still holds up really well, just a little outdated visuals. Even with mods. Haven't found one yet that actually enhances things in an authentic-looking way. Need more polygons.

cool how'd u get it on PC? sadly all i have is that mediocre definitive edition :skull: its glitchy but somewhat playable
Don't you just love it when the respect bar goes waaay beyond how far the respect bar is actually supposed to go? ;) Somehow even the bugs in SA just make it better too, some of them...
Ah Rockstar's official Definitive Edition? I didn't realize that was a thing, there's actually an unofficial project with exactly the same name: https://www.definitive-edition-project.com/sa-de
Maybe a better version there? I've had the game on DVD since the old days actually. :) It doesn't work properly by itself anymore on Windows 10, it loads but for example the mouse doesn't work at all. Fortunately there is this: https://gtaforums.com/topic/669045-silentpatch/
...playing it together with 'Extended Gang Wars' now too, which adds extra territories wherever gangs appear. Otherwise like to keep it as much like the original as possible, no major mods, just functional enhancements.
Might be possible to use with the Definitive Edition too, not sure how they've changed the files... hey maybe they 'fixed' that respect bar in the new edition?
If you can't mod the new version, and you do want to, you could probably find the original pretty cheap second hand somewhere btw. Or ebay it. Don't know if it's worth it if you've played through it already though, of course there are also... less pricey ways to obtain games, and you did already buy it so...
